Ryann

Active learner.

January 20, 2011

Ryann is a very active toddler.  Which is odd to me because as an infant she just laid there, she was a late roller and mover.  She learned to sit up unassisted early and then just sat or laid most of the time.  She would babble and shriek and grab for toys within her reach, [...]

New word.

January 19, 2011

We’ve reach a new toddler milestone at the Williams’ house.  It starts with an N and ends with an O.  And goes something like this: “Ryann, may I have a kiss?” “No, no, no.” “Ryann, please get your sippy cup off the floor.” “No, no, no.” “Ryann, it’s time to change your stinky bum.” “No, [...]

B!

January 17, 2011

Today was my first full day home with Ryann.  As I was switching over the laundry and preparing yet another snack for her, Ryann  played with her magnetic letters on the dishwasher.  I pause for a moment and Ryann enthusiastically yells B!  She’s in fact holding the letter B.  I shout, YES, B, THAT’S RIGHT. [...]

Playing.

January 10, 2011

Ryann is finally getting over the stage where EVERYTHING goes in her mouth. She attempts to put non-edibles in her mouth but can be redirected and is much better about not doing it every second. So we color and draw…. …and read… …and  build… …and she sits…. Cause playing is hard work.

Baby Bins, Toddler Totes, Kiddie Kits…LIFE SAVERS!

December 13, 2010

I thought since I had this genius idea to create baby bins, I’d share my genius with you.  If you’re reading this and thinking, “duh, LCW I totally do this already, you’re NOT a genius”,  just flatter me, ok?  For those who don’t know me well or just started reading, I am not a SAHM,  [...]

Cutting the proverbial cord, the end of breastfeeding.

December 6, 2010

About a month or so ago I wrote about what I thought was the end to breastfeeding.  And at the time I wasn’t ready for it to end.  I’m thankful for our successful breastfeeding story.  And I write you today to share the end, it’s over.  I was able to nourish Ryann for nearly fifteen [...]

V is for Vom.

November 10, 2010

I have an irrational fear of vomit.  I hate it. I hate doing it and everything that “comes with” it.  I won’t go into details, but I just don’t handle “it” well.  In my teaching years I would “train” the children to just leave the classroom immediately if they thought they were going to be [...]

I felt like Super Mom this weekend.

November 8, 2010

This weekend I packed a suitcase and the baby for a road trip to northeast Florida to visit our friends and attend a birthday party.  I was nervous, excited and mostly dreading the drive.  I wasn’t sure how Ryann would handle the  3.5 hours in the car, but I underestimated her awesome-ness and she responded [...]

It’s not over….

November 4, 2010

Yesterday marked what I thought was the last day of breastfeeding.  Ryann is down to one nursing session a day, snuggling up to me first thing in the morning in our bed and drinking her milk.  But yesterday she was distracted, she was biting and well I thought she was done.  I told JPW I [...]

Meet the Flinstones

November 1, 2010

We’re the *modern stone age family.  This year we hosted a Halloween costume party.  And it turned out to be way better than I ever expected.  The food was a hit, the drinks were flowing and the babies were well behaved and handled trick or treating like champs!  For the treats I served a seven [...]
