Happy Birthday Ryann Elizabeth

in Ryann

It’s a Girl!  September 12, 2009 we welcomed our tiny team green baby into the world with open arms and hearts.  Her parts were a shock to us, but we embraced the pink and purple that would soon flood our lives.  Weighing in at 6lbs 15oz and measuring 19 inches long Ryann Elizabeth became the center of our world.

She is a champion breastfeeder, and I’m proud to say we’re still going strong.  She wouldn’t have it any other way. Ryann knows what she wants and will do anything to get it. She’s feisty like me I guess.   Ryann has taken two round trip flights, countless hours in the car for road trips and can sleep anywhere as long as she has at least two lovey’s with her.  She moved into a new house when she was only 3.5 months old and for the past 8 months has come to work with me.  Ryann is a cuddly baby who enjoys being around me and JPW.  She’s attached, we don’t mind…she’ll only be little for a short time.

Ryann can pull up on anything, she’s fearless.  Unfortunately she got my coordination, so she’s a clumsy daredevil.  That makes me very nervous.  Ryann can swim underwater without assistance, thanks to 6 months of swim lessons.  She can crawl faster than I can keep up most days.  She has 7.5 teeth, killer blue eyes and wispy fine blond hair.  Ryann says a whole lot, I only understand a little.  She clearly says mama, dada,  and uh-oh. Dogs are “da”, and ball is “bo”.   She’s working hard on her other words, and when she figures it all out, we’re in for a treat!  Ryann has fantastic receptive language and will get her ball when asked, she responds to her name, the word “no” and “eww, dirty” will stop her in her tracks.  We’ve been signing with her for months, she hasn’t signed yet, but watches us intently, I’d say we’re off to a good start.

She got most of JPW’s good looks, my eyes when she smiles, my nose, lips and big hands.  Sorry about the big hands girl, you’ll grow into them.   Ryann still wears 6-9 month sized shirts, pj’s and pants (sans cloth diaper).  She’s slowly creeping into 12 month sized clothes and her feet, well they’re a miniature size 1.5/2.  She tips the scale at 17lbs 4oz. My tiny terror.  I cannot believe a whole year has passed, and I cannot believe I am the mother to a ::gulp::  one year old.
