On working from home…

in Ryann,Workin' It

It’s exactly how I imagined it, well except for the fact that I don’t have a “designated” baby area to trap keep them in. But it was glorious.  Although I spent a lot of my time chasing very mobile babies around the “great” room, we had a fun time.

Little guy enjoyed playing with all new toys, well new to him.  And Ryann certainly enjoyed showing little guy around and how to cause the most mischief.

We also explored with flour finger paint. They weren’t sure what to do at first, but after some modeling, they got the hang of it. Ryann also got it in her hair, ear, nose, eye and all over the left side of her face.  And fyi, flour and water equal sticky pasty stick-to-everything-like-cement substance. She didn’t appreciate the scrub down afterward.

And after lunch, clean up and a little playing, we ventured outside since it’s only 92 degrees today instead of  surface-of-the-sun hot. It was just what they needed before a two hour nap.

And I basked in the glory of being in my own home, with the freedom of showering after a long sweaty walk.  I started dinner and had it cooking in the crockpot by 3 so it’ll be ready to eat when we walk in the door.  Although my house is unusually messy it’s worth it if Ryann gets to play with her own toys and dinner is on the table by 6pm.

Love it! I did NOT work from home today…I went in to work, but Cort had dinner on the table for us before 6pm, and that was glorious!

Do you think it'll be an option to make this a permanent thing? Sounds wonderful.

Unfortunately it'll be a case by case thing. I wish I could do it everyday!

Yay! It sounds like a great day :) I love it when I am able to get things done early – start dinner, shower, etc. Hope this can happen more often!

What a great day! In January I will start nannying for my neighbors newborn so I can't wait to have WAH days like this. =)

Wonderful! I am going to start babysitting as well. I might have a little one to watch and I'm SO excited! I think my own baby would enjoy having a close-in-age playmate, and I'll love the fact that the child will get to go home at the end of the day (as opposed to actually giving my daughter a sibling, haha)
