I love this recipe because it’s easy and tasty.  A great combination!!!  So share your favorite steak/beef recipe. Don’t forget to leave your link to your Momma’s Munchies post in the comment section.

Next week: your favorite seafood dish, and even though I don’t eat seafood, I’ll have JPW chime in on his favorite!!

When you’re done here please go leave a comment on my blog post at Raising Madison’s internet home.  I talk about moving and making memories. We’d love your input!

Recipe: Skillet Beef and Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 lb. sirloin steak, cut into 1 inch strips
  • 1 package (10oz) frozen broccoli florets, thawed
  • 1 envelope Lipton Secret Recipe, Onion soup mix
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1 Tbsp firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce

Instructions

  1. In 12 inch skillet, heat oil over medium high heat and brown steak, stirring occasionally. Remove steak from skillet and set aside.
  2. Stir in broccoli and soup mix blended with water, brown sugar and soy sauce. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, 2 minutes.
  3. Return steak to skillet and cook 1 minute or until steak is done. Serve, if desired, with hot cooked rice.

Quick Notes

I found the juices to be a bit watery, so I added about 2 Tbsp of cornstarch to make a thicker sauce.

Cooking time (duration): 15

Meal type: dinner
