Next week: your favorite seafood dish, and even though I don’t eat seafood, I’ll have JPW chime in on his favorite!!
When you’re done here please go leave a comment on my blog post at Raising Madison’s internet home. I talk about moving and making memories. We’d love your input!
Recipe: Skillet Beef and Broccoli
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 lb. sirloin steak, cut into 1 inch strips
- 1 package (10oz) frozen broccoli florets, thawed
- 1 envelope Lipton Secret Recipe, Onion soup mix
- 1 1/4 cups water
- 1 Tbsp firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
Instructions
- In 12 inch skillet, heat oil over medium high heat and brown steak, stirring occasionally. Remove steak from skillet and set aside.
- Stir in broccoli and soup mix blended with water, brown sugar and soy sauce. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, 2 minutes.
- Return steak to skillet and cook 1 minute or until steak is done. Serve, if desired, with hot cooked rice.
Quick Notes
I found the juices to be a bit watery, so I added about 2 Tbsp of cornstarch to make a thicker sauce.
Cooking time (duration): 15
Meal type: dinner
